A true realist, Gérard has been strongly influenced by the great European classics - among them Velazquez, Rubens, Rembrandt, Delacroix and Reynolds - without forgetting the great masters of Trompe l'œil - Bouts, Pope, Harnett and Cadiou – all of whom figure amongst those who formed Gérard's artistic approach during his fine art studies.
